Taste-matched follow-ups
If you want more gentle crime comedy, sunny family comedy, and father daughter comedy, begin with the strongest matches and keep going. Every pick is a recent premiere or a returning season.
Closest matches first, then broader nearby picks.
Why this fits: Alter Ego makes crime cases fun through clashing temperaments, easy banter, and a family slowly finding its footing, a pleasure Der letzte Bulle shares. Its blunt, old-school detective brings fish-out-of-water jokes to modern police work, while the cases stay light and neatly wrapped up.
Why this fits: Alter Ego keeps crime lively with a charming lead, playful exchanges, and family ties that soften the cases, qualities Lupin brings to its Parisian capers. Assane’s disguises and confident talk make each plan a pleasure to watch unfold, though the revenge story is faster and more dangerous than Batista’s sunny family comedy.
Why this fits: Alter Ego finds warmth and humor in a father and daughter learning to trust each other, while Drops of God also makes family ties central to its appeal. Its tastings and vineyard visits turn a wine inheritance contest into a patient mystery, with grief and rivalry giving it a quieter, more serious mood.
Alter Ego makes light crime cases fun through Joseph’s improvised charm and his bantering, unlikely family bond; Cash Queens brings that comic troublemaking to a loyal circle of friends. Its botched bank jobs add chases, weapons, and real danger, making it a more frantic caper than Alter Ego’s gentle cases.
Alter Ego’s light crime cases offer an easy framework for its family comedy, while Maigret turns each investigation into a patient puzzle about motives and people. The Paris detective drama is more moody and contemplative, with less banter and no family-comedy focus.
Alter Ego’s gentle cases and slowly earned family trust may appeal if you enjoy Cassandre’s warm team bonds and approachable mysteries. Cassandre is more of a steady workplace procedural, with a close-knit crew solving a self-contained case each episode rather than a father and daughter trading banter.
