What to Expect

PremiereLens read

Set in 1910s Japan, where black snow falls on a troubled town, this animated series follows a military school student trained in paranormal research as he moves case by case through phenomena that resist easy explanation. Each mystery is self-contained enough to feel complete, yet leaves the larger picture deliberately unresolved, so the supernatural world grows stranger and more layered as the series continues.

The boy at the heart of the investigation carries a condition that may be sickness or may be something far less ordinary, and that ambiguity drives the story forward more than any confrontation does. The two figures piece things together cautiously, in a setting where the rules of the supernatural are still being discovered, which keeps the mood closer to quiet unease than to adventure.
