What to Expect

PremiereLens read

Let's Go Kaikigumi turns ghost encounters into quick swings between fright and silliness. Apparitions and haunted spots provide the spooky setups, but the adventures rarely stay frightening for long. A terrified recruit's alarm collides with his fearless leader's eagerness to charge ahead, giving the paranormal jobs a playful, energetic feel rather than a grim horror tone.

The paranormal-policing group needs rebuilding, so each strange assignment is also another step toward getting the team back on its feet. The two leads approach ghosts with wildly different levels of confidence, yet their shared work gradually draws them, and the little group around them, toward friendship. That developing bond gives the succession of supernatural misadventures a thread beyond the immediate scare and laugh.
