GROW UP SHOW -Sunflower Circus-(2026)

Set in 1950s Japan, this anime follows a traveling circus that is genuinely short on money, moving from town to town with no guarantee the next stop will keep the lights on. The period setting gives the ensemble a specific texture: no safety nets beyond the troupe itself, and every performance carrying real financial consequence. Comedy and drama trade off without either canceling the other out, so a scene can be warm and funny one moment and quietly desperate the next.

Mizuka Tsurumaki's arrival reshapes the group's internal gravity almost immediately. Whether her appearance was coincidence or something more deliberate is a question the story holds open, and that uncertainty runs alongside the more practical pressure of keeping Sunflower Circus alive. Ringmaster Maria has to manage both: a troupe already strained by debt and a prodigy whose presence changes what everyone else thought they understood about their place in it.
