GROW UP SHOW -Sunflower Circus-(2026)

Set against the dusty roads and small-town stops of 1950s and 1960s Japan, this animated comedy-drama follows a traveling circus that is perpetually short on money but not on personality. The period setting gives everything a specific texture: hand-painted signage, postwar optimism, and the particular closeness that comes from a troupe living and working in each other's pockets.

Mizuka Tsurumaki's arrival reshapes the ensemble without displacing it. Ringmaster Maria and her co-workers carry the comedic warmth, but Mizuka's appearance quietly introduces a more earnest question about whether certain meetings are accidental or something else entirely. That question never overwhelms the lighter material; it just runs underneath it, giving the show a gentle dramatic undertow alongside the banter.
