What to Expect

PremiereLens read

Draw This, Then Die! turns manga-making into lively school comedy, with arguments over panels, quick jokes, and exaggerated reactions giving the work a playful bustle. Sketching and finishing pages become small adventures of their own. The brisk episodes follow the club’s wins and setbacks without losing the sincere excitement of teenagers trying to make something they can be proud of.

Showing unfinished work to other club members brings a quieter kind of pressure: enthusiasm does not erase the nerves of letting someone else see a drawing. Shared pages give these friendships something concrete to grow around, as creative ambition meets the give-and-take of working together. The small Japanese island setting frames a gentle story about making art and finding company in the process.
