Taste-matched follow-ups
If you want more epic coming-of-age, found family adventure, and elemental martial arts, begin with the strongest matches and keep going. Every pick is a recent premiere or a returning season.
Closest matches first, then broader nearby picks.
Why this fits: The animated Avatar: The Last Airbender makes a young hero’s world-spanning quest feel warm and adventurous, even as war and loss shadow the journey. The live-action version keeps that mix of elemental battles, sibling banter, and young people carrying a heavy responsibility, with a more grounded look at the same fantasy world.
Why this fits: Avatar’s found-family adventure and magical battles make room for a rowdier, more grown-up fantasy journey in The Mighty Nein. Its mismatched crew trades sharp jokes while facing bloody fights and personal troubles, balancing sweeping quests with quieter scenes of trust and loyalty.
Why this fits: Avatar’s lively quest, elemental magic, and close-knit young heroes find a bright counterpart in Magic Knight Rayearth. Three girls grow into their powers through monster fights and new landscapes, with friendship and humor keeping the adventure warm even as sorrow enters the story.
Avatar: The Last Airbender turns a long quest into a story about a found family trying to end a war; Romelia War Chronicle shifts that appeal toward a wronged heroine rebuilding a ruined province. Expect more army-building and community recovery, with battles still driving the fantasy adventure.
Avatar: The Last Airbender balances elemental battles with a traveling group learning to trust one another; Crowned in a Hundred Days brings that quest-driven adventure to an unlikely pair sharing one body. Its hundred-day countdown and romantic thread make the journey brisker and more focused on winning allies.
The found-family journey and fantasy battles in Avatar: The Last Airbender make room for a different kind of adventure in A Wild Last Boss Appeared!, where a legendary ruler explores a changed world. Expect lighter, more episodic monster fights and fish-out-of-water humor rather than a quest to stop a war.
