The Legend of Vox Machina(2022)

Vox Machina runs on adult animation that earns its hard-R rating through both language and genuine brutality: dragons tear through armies, demons make a mess of things, and the action lands with real weight rather than consequence-free cartoon violence. The comedy is crude and fast, and the show never softens either quality in service of the other.

Each arc escalates the threat while the group itself stays gloriously, stubbornly dysfunctional. These mercenaries bicker over money and petty grievances even as the pressure builds toward apocalyptic, and that friction between self-interest and reluctant heroism gives the story its particular energy. Nobody here cleans up their act to become a hero; they just happen to be the only ones available.
