The Chair Company(2025)

The Chair Company turns awkward office comedy into an anxious mystery, letting deadpan jokes tip into uneasy suspense. Small indignities take on bizarre proportions, and the comedy grows darker as one man's obsession outpaces the embarrassment that set it off. The absurd distance between a petty workplace mishap and an imagined sprawling cover-up gives the humor its uncomfortable bite.

Strange discoveries accumulate across one continuing investigation, with dread creeping beneath the laughs rather than replacing them. His growing paranoia also follows him home and back to work, straining his family life and damaging his standing with colleagues. Those consequences give the surreal mystery a sadder, human texture: the search for an explanation keeps costing him more than the original humiliation.
