What to Expect

PremiereLens read

The Boroughs turns a picturesque retirement community in the New Mexico desert into an unsettling backdrop for otherworldly danger. The contrast between the inviting setting and the menace gives its mystery an eerie edge, pairing creeping dread with the forward pull of an unlikely-hero adventure. This is a place whose peaceful appearance offers no protection from what threatens it.

Time itself is under threat, making the danger more personal than a mystery to be solved. The unlikely heroes have to act together to protect it, giving the story a collective struggle rather than a lone-hero shape. Their need to unite adds an underdog quality to the supernatural suspense.
