Only Murders in the Building(2021)

Only Murders in the Building treats murder as a puzzle threaded through dry banter, running jokes, and suspicious encounters with eccentric neighbors. Each half-hour episode adds clues, suspects, and misdirection to a season-long case, with brisk cliffhangers leading toward a surprise reveal. The mystery stays playful and light on gore, even as deception makes the grand old Manhattan apartment building a place where almost anyone might have something to hide.

The three amateur investigators bring different generations and personalities to their shared obsession, so collaboration comes with plenty of bickering. Their own true-crime podcast gives them a joint project beyond simply comparing clues. As their loyalty slowly grows, the comedy of mismatched neighbors develops into a friendship without losing its argumentative edge.
