Urgent missions give NCIS: New York its forward push, with the city and its port under threat. The field office provides a base for team-led operations, while the waterfront gives the danger a concrete focus. Expect a brisk crime drama shaped by the pressure to protect a city, rather than a leisurely study of investigative work.
Sam Hanna’s return to his hometown adds a personal connection to that responsibility. Alongside him, roguish Nick Schaeffer brings a looser presence to their shared leadership of a new team. Their contrasting temperaments leave room for swagger and banter within the urgent work, giving the partnership a different texture from the missions themselves.
