Landman(2024)

Landman mixes hard bargaining with the physical danger of oilfield work, moving from swaggering, dry-humored exchanges to drilling accidents that abruptly cut through the talk. Roughnecks, executives, and a company crisis-fixer operate in a world where money is tempting and loyalties can shift with the next deal. The dusty towns and expansive West Texas landscape give this connected drama a rough, straight-talking texture.

Fathers, daughters, sons, and ex-spouses argue, betray one another, and still turn to each other for support. Those family ties bring a more personal cost to the pursuit of fortune, alongside the rivalries between bosses and employees. Affection does not cancel out resentment, and the family conflicts carry forward with the dangerous business rather than offering a clean escape from it.
