Delusion(2026)

Delusion builds its mystery around a genuinely difficult problem: the one person who might know what happened cannot reliably say. A school teacher trying to clear her father of a murder charge has to work around his deteriorating memory rather than through it, which means every lead she pursues has to compensate for the testimony he cannot give. The investigation moves at a clipped pace, but the pressure is less procedural than personal.

Small-town rumor does real damage here. Whispers harden into suspicion before any evidence is examined, and the institutional machinery of a local case closing around a vulnerable man gives the story its specific dread. Watching a daughter race to outpace a narrative that has already formed about her father, while also grieving the parent she is losing to dementia, keeps the emotional cost concrete and close throughout.
