City of Blood splits its future Berlin into two brutal realities: a climate-controlled dome for the wealthy, and a scorched, crime-ridden outside where survival is daily work. Into that divide comes a political conspiracy with teeth, literally, as vampires move through institutions and use blood as leverage, currency, and control. The series keeps both registers, speculative horror and class thriller, running at the same time.

Bea and Phoebe's reunion after years apart is what drives the personal cost of all this. They find each other just as they find out how far the conspiracy reaches, which means every step toward the truth is also a step toward exposure and retaliation. The danger of knowing too much is concrete here: the wrong person learning what the sisters have uncovered could end their lives or force them apart again.
