Wild Cherry builds its dread through social exposure rather than anything supernatural. A scandal inside an exclusive private school fractures a close friendship between two women, and the horror register here is entirely human: reputations destroyed in public, loyalties tested past breaking point, and the particular cruelty of a privileged community turning on its own. The thriller pacing is slow and accumulative, secrets layering until the pressure becomes genuinely uncomfortable.

Social media operates less as backdrop and more as a mechanism of damage, accelerating humiliation and locking characters into positions they cannot quietly retreat from. Running alongside the friendship collapse is a sustained pressure on the mother-daughter bonds in both families, so the personal and the social keep colliding. Class and parenting sit uncomfortably close together throughout, and the show never lets either feel safe.
