Paradise(2025)

A Secret Service agent investigating a former president's murder in an outwardly tranquil community gives the show its structural tension: the crime itself is almost beside the point once the layers start peeling back. The story moves between past and present through flashbacks, so the investigation and the events being investigated run in parallel, each reframing the other as new details surface.

Los Angeles provides the backdrop, but the real pressure comes from inside the community itself, where a peaceful surface keeps contradicting what the evidence suggests. The agent's position is never straightforwardly heroic; institutional loyalty and personal stakes pull in different directions, and family complications add friction that the procedural plot alone wouldn't generate.
