Futurama(1999)

Futurama turns delivery runs into animated sci-fi adventures where bizarre planets, absurd aliens, and mad inventions make an ordinary job wildly unpredictable. Most episodes tell a self-contained mission, packing the action with puns, visual gags, and irreverent jokes about technology, politics, and pop culture. The science-fiction ideas can be as clever as the comedy is goofy.

A cranky drinking robot, a one-eyed pilot, and an eccentric professor make for an unruly collection of coworkers, but their misfit companionship has genuine warmth. The delivery worker’s loneliness as a man from the past and a long-running will-they-won’t-they romance give the silliness a tender counterpoint. Occasional turns toward sadness or sweetness land amid the comic chaos, while a few continuing story arcs reach beyond the individual missions.
