Drops of God(2023)

Drops of God structures its drama around a competition that is simultaneously a legal contest and a personal reckoning. A woman must prove herself worthy of her late father's extraordinary wine collection by going up against the protege he chose over her, and the show keeps both pressures alive at once: the intellectual challenge of the rivalry and the unresolved grief underneath it.

Flashbacks carry much of the emotional weight, threading the history of a strained father-daughter relationship through the present-day contest in pieces rather than all at once. The cross-cultural setting, split between Japan and France, gives the story a specific texture; the two worlds carry different ideas about inheritance, mastery, and what a parent owes a child, and those differences quietly shape the rivalry without ever becoming the explicit subject.
