Death Inc. turns funeral work into a dark, mischievous workplace comedy, with bruised egos and petty one-upmanship playing out among coffins, wakes, and grieving clients. Awkward etiquette and absurd requests give the humor a concrete edge: this is a business where office squabbles coexist with the unusual demands of dealing with death. The tone stays brisk and playful rather than solemn.
The widow and the ambitious second-in-command have competing claims to authority, and their contest carries across episodes rather than resetting with each new dispute. Relatives pull in different directions while workplace rivals scheme for advantage, making company decisions personal as well as professional. Competition from other businesses adds another pressure to a funeral home already tangled in family friction.
