Death Inc. runs its comedy through a single destabilizing event: the wrong person ends up in charge. A right-hand man who spent years expecting to inherit a funeral home finds himself reporting to the founder's widow instead, and the show wrings escalating chaos from that collision of bruised expectation and sudden authority. The funeral home setting is a reliable source of friction, forcing characters to maintain professional decorum while pursuing very personal grievances.

Much of the humor lives in the gap between what the widow is supposed to be, a grieving outsider, and what she actually turns out to be: someone who refuses to be managed or sidelined. Her refusal to yield keeps the rivalry from settling into a simple underdog story. Family tensions and outside business competition pile on, so the scramble for control never stabilizes long enough for anyone to feel safe.
