Cooper & Fry(2025)

Cooper & Fry is a British crime procedural set in a contained rural district, where each episode turns on a local death and the two detectives assigned to it. The case-by-case structure keeps the plotting tight, and the small-world setting means there is nowhere to hide, for suspects or for the investigators themselves.

One detective is rooted in the community and reads it instinctively; the other has just arrived and gives almost nothing away. That gap in approach creates friction at work before it creates anything warmer, and the show lets that friction run slowly. Withheld personal histories surface gradually, and what each character chooses not to say often matters as much as the evidence they turn up.
