Aoashi(2022)

Aoashi follows Ashito Aoi, a rough-edged teenager whose impulsive play costs his team a tournament match and kills his original path into high school soccer. The show doesn't soften that failure or rush past it; the loss is real, and the door it closes stays closed. What follows is a recruitment into Tokyo's elite training environment, where provincial instinct collides with structured, high-level competition.

Ashito's unfiltered personality generates most of the comedy, often by putting him at odds with teammates and coaches who operate on discipline he hasn't learned yet. The drama runs on the same quality: his rawness is both the reason he was noticed and the reason he keeps making costly errors. That gap between potential and execution, played out through school-age rivalry and grueling practice, gives the series its particular texture.
